Test Assurance Lead (Assurance, Smart Meter, Utilities, Telecoms)

A leading UK FTSE 100 provider of IT services and solutions are looking to hire an experienced Test Assurance Lead (Assurance, Smart Meter, Utilities, Telecoms) to act as a key point of contact with the programme and project management in relation to Test Assurance activities, encompassing all the Non-functional and Functional testing. You will lead the Assurance activity, confirming the solution / services can be implemented, are operationally fit for purpose, do not adversely impact existing services, operates within the wider IT infrastructure and are fit for the User environment and Live service. The Test Assurance Lead (Assurance, Smart Meter, Utilities, Telecoms) will develop the Test Approach and determine test assurance resource requirements in conjunction with the Test Assurance Manager.

Responsibilities for the Test Assurance Lead (Assurance, Smart Meter, Utilities, Telecoms)

  • Lead engagement with the Programmes/Projects and Service Providers on relevant testing matters.
  • Establish the scope and agree the detail of testing undertaken by the Service Provider.
  • Analysis of test evidence to confirm that established criteria have been met.
  • Production of high-quality routine and ad-hoc reports.
  • Timely escalation of issues to the appropriate members of the Test Assurance leadership team.
  • Line management of assigned Test Assurance Analyst resources.

Experience for the Test Assurance Lead (Assurance, Smart Meter, Utilities, Telecoms)

  • A test professional with a minimum of 8 years' relevant testing experience. 4 years of which, will be at test manager / lead level
  • The ability and experience to rapidly understand complex functionality and architectures
  • In-depth understanding of testing standards and processes, and how these apply to a service provider
  • Ability to:
    • scope the required system testing
    • define the associated business scenarios
    • assess the test programme and plan proposed by the Service Provider
    • witness tests and inspect test results
  • Excellent analytical skills: able to identify exceptions to the agreed test approach, propose alternative solutions and appropriate responses
